The Limassol Permanent Criminal Court sentenced a 54-year-old accountant to 8 years in prison for stealing €3.2 million from a group of companies. Her 68-year-old husband received a 2-year suspended sentence for three years.

The accountant, who worked for the group, forged checks and is accused of theft from clerks and servants, as well as money laundering. Her actions lasted from 2017 to 2020.

The court ordered the confiscation of €750,000 from the 54-year-old and €10,000 from her husband. The case began in May 2020, and the prosecution called 34 witnesses.

The court took into account the defendants' clean criminal record, their age, and health problems. Senior Counsel for the Republic, Mikaella Pasiardi, represented the prosecution.
