Limassol: Minor Arrested for Rape of 14-Year-Old

A young man from Syria, arrested for the rape of a 14-year-old in Limassol, appears to be a minor. Initially presented as 19 years old, he submitted certificates through his lawyer proving he is 17 years old.
The complaint concerns the rape of a 14-year-old who gave birth to a child. The young man denies the charges and claims he is not the father of the child.
Due to his age, the suspect was released with restrictive conditions, including a €10,000 bail, surrender of travel documents, and daily appearance at a police station. He is also prohibited from approaching or communicating with the 14-year-old.
The case will be heard in the Limassol Juvenile Court in late May. DNA samples have been taken from the 17-year-old and the infant to determine paternity.
