A 21-year-old has been arrested in Limassol for possession of 263 captagon pills, also known as "jihadist pills." The arrest was made as part of investigations by YKAN.
Members of OPE conducted a search of the 21-year-old's apartment in Limassol, where the pills, weighing a total of approximately 44 grams, were found under his bed.
The 21-year-old was arrested and questioned by YKAN, providing statements that are being investigated. He remains in custody.
Captagon pills are used by ISIS fighters. According to a previous Cyprus Times report, similar cases have concerned YKAN in Limassol and Nicosia. The pill has been produced in Syria since 1970 and is considered relatively new to the Cypriot market.
Millions of such pills have been seized by the Greek authorities in the past.
