Lemesos: Fatal Tanker Truck Accident β 74-Year-Old Dead
A fatal traffic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Lemesos, claiming the life of a 74-year-old man.
Around 14:15, Sotiris Trigkis, 74, was driving a tanker truck from Karvounas towards Amiantos. Upon entering the village, the vehicle veered left on a bend, collided with a concrete wall and a telecommunications pole, resulting in it overturning.
The driver was extricated by the Fire Service and transported to Kyperounta Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The tanker, which was loaded with water, showed signs of skidding and will undergo mechanical examination.
