Limassol: Police Officer Injured During Motorcycle Pursuit

A police officer was injured in the early hours of Tuesday in Limassol during an operation to stop a motorcyclist. According to the police, at approximately 01:00, four members of the Limassol traffic police signaled a motorcyclist near the old port to stop.
The driver did not comply, maneuvering and hitting a probationary police officer. The officer was taken to the hospital with a sprained right elbow and left shoulder and multiple abrasions on his limbs.
The motorcyclist was chased by a member of Team Z and stopped at the new port, having violated two red lights and after a slight collision with the police motorcycle. The arrested man, a 29-year-old Greek national, resisted arrest. An alcohol test showed 33mg in a preliminary test and 14mg in the final test.
