Larnakos Avenue: Closure for Fatal Accident Reenactment

Larnakos Avenue in Aglantzia will be closed by the Police tomorrow, Thursday (July 31st) from 8 a.m., for the reenactment of the fatal road collision that occurred on July 29th. The closure will be from the University roundabout to the traffic lights near the Sklavenitis supermarket in both directions.
According to reports, the initial indication is that the 24-year-old driver was traveling at a speed of over 100 km/h. The Nicosia Traffic Police are investigating the case and are looking for testimonies and data from the examination of the vehicle's computer and material from business cameras.
Examinations show that there was no braking on the part of the 24-year-old driver. The collision occurred at a traffic light intersection when Kyriakos Antoniou attempted to turn right and the 24-year-old collided with his car. Alcohol and drug tests on the 24-year-old were negative.
20-year-old Kyriakos was wearing a seat belt. The 24-year-old and his passenger were hospitalized and are expected to be called in for questioning.
