Nicosia: Police Raid for Drugs, Arrests for Illegal Residence

A police raid on an apartment in Nicosia, targeting drug offenses, led to the arrest of two individuals for illegal residence in the Republic of Cyprus.
According to the police announcement, during a search of an apartment, a 34-year-old was found to be residing illegally in Cyprus. He was arrested for the offense of illegal residence.
During the search, two nylon bags containing a white crystalline substance, weighing approximately 80 grams, were found. The 34-year-old was re-arrested for illegal possession and possession with intent to supply a Class A controlled drug. Also found were two cardboard boxes with transparent zip-lock bags and a precision scale with traces of a white substance.
A second person was found in the apartment and was also arrested for illegal residence in the country.
The case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Agency (Nicosia Unit).
