Nicosia: 60-Year-Old Arrested for €24,440 Online Scam

Police have arrested a 60-year-old man in connection with a case of fraud and the extraction of a large sum of money through the internet.

According to the investigation, a 49-year-old man was deceived after online communication with unknown individuals who persuaded him to invest money, resulting in the loss of €24,440.

The perpetrators attempted to extract an additional €13,100 from the 49-year-old under the pretext of returning profits. The 49-year-old informed the Police, who organized an operation in cooperation with the complainant.

During the operation, evidence emerged against the 60-year-old, who was arrested with a court warrant. The case is being investigated by the Nicosia CID.
