Photoradar List: Fine Checks at Airports in October

The photoradar list is expected to be implemented in October, allowing the Police to check if traffic camera fines are pending for citizens. Checks will be carried out at airports, ports and checkpoints.
The list, managed by the photo-identification system company, aims to solve the problem of thousands of unserved fines. Police officers will be able to check if a citizen has a pending fine from the cameras when they come into contact with him/her.
The creation of the list provoked reactions from MPs. The Police believe that it will solve a serious problem with outstanding fines. At the same time, a bill is being promoted to send notifications via SMS or e-mail.
The list will be accessible at police stations, airports, ports and checkpoints, after approval by the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection. In case a pending fine is detected, a notification will be served to the citizen.
The necessary procedures for registering complaints on the list have already started. Its use is expected to start in October, subject to approval by the Commissioner and informing citizens. It is clarified that the service of a fine will not prevent the citizen from travelling.
