Students Attack Bus Driver in Paphos – Route Suspended

An incident involving students attacking a bus driver occurred in Paphos, leading to the temporary suspension of a school route.

According to Andreas Nikiforou, Head of the Public Passenger Transport Department, students threw a water bottle at the bus driver operating a route to the Technical School of Polis Chrysochous. The incident occurred earlier last week.

The driver managed to stop the bus and disembark the students in Tsada. Mr. Nikiforou stated that there had been other similar incidents, resulting in the initial suspension of the route.

Following commitments from parents and students, the route resumed on Tuesday. The names of the eight students involved were given to the Technical School and the Ministry of Education for further action.
