Moniatis: Fire After Accident, Power Pole Cut Off

A fire broke out in the Limassol district, near Moniatis, after a traffic accident around 23:40 on Wednesday. A driver lost control of their vehicle and collided with an EAC (Electricity Authority of Cyprus) power pole.

The impact caused the pole to be cut off, sparking a fire. A second vehicle was also involved in the accident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The fire was brought under control shortly after midnight. The Forestry Department, the Fire Service, and a volunteer team participated in the extinguishing operation. The fire burned 0.5 hectares of forest vegetation.
