New SMS Scam Targeting Bank Accounts

The Cybercrime Sub-Division of the Police Headquarters has received an increased number of complaints regarding misleading SMS messages appearing to originate from banks.

These messages typically mention unauthorized transactions or verification codes, urging recipients to contact a phone number. These are malicious acts aimed at extracting personal and banking data.

The Police recommends not calling numbers listed in suspicious messages, not sharing personal information, and contacting your bank directly through official channels. Report any incident to the Cybercrime Sub-Division at 22808200.
