A new case of cryptocurrency fraud has been reported to the Police, with the amount of the fraud exceeding €380,000.

A 48-year-old man reported the loss of digital currencies from his electronic wallet. The incident occurred on June 11, when unknown individuals managed to breach the victim's electronic wallet account.

The cybercriminals exploited the fact that the wallet's password was stored in the 48-year-old's email, which was also compromised. Following the illegal access, the cryptocurrencies were transferred to another digital wallet, making their recovery extremely difficult.

The Police reiterate their recommendations to citizens to protect their digital assets.
