A new allegation of medical negligence at Larnaca General Hospital was revealed today on the RIK television program "First Update."

The daughter of a 92-year-old patient who recently passed away alleges a "tragic situation" and "deplorable conditions" at the hospital. She stated that her father was admitted with a mild stroke and remained in the emergency room for 5 hours.

The family was informed that the 92-year-old needed to be transferred to a clinic due to a lack of available beds. The complainant claims that during the transfer, the necessary instructions were not given, resulting in him being given food and tea despite being unable to swallow, which worsened his condition.

The woman described a series of events suggesting negligence and failure to provide adequate medical care, leading to her father's death. She also alleged that a total of 5 people died during his 8-day stay in the hospital.

OKYPY has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident. The organization's representative, Charalambos Charilaou, stated that a written complaint has not been received and, therefore, he cannot comment on the substance of the matter.

The investigation began immediately after the complaint was publicized on RIK.
