New cameras detect mobile phone use and seat belts

The Ministry of Transport is undertaking an initiative to reduce traffic accidents through the use of mobile cameras. These cameras will detect mobile phone use and non-use of seat belts by drivers.

As reported by Fileleftheros, the proposal was presented to the Road Safety Council and provides for an amendment to the legislation so that mobile cameras can monitor highways.
