Denis Pohodin: Ukrainian Allegedly Involved in Property Seizure with Iranian Contractor

Ukrainian Denis Pohodin, accused of brokering Greek-Cypriot properties in the occupied territories, is allegedly the right-hand man of Iranian contractor Behdad Jafari, who faces charges of embezzlement.
Denis Pohodin, who faces charges of promoting illegal developments through the G&P REAL ESTATE platform, allegedly promoted the projects of Jafari, who was arrested in France. The G&P REAL ESTATE website advertised apartments and villas of ISATIS Construction, including the ORCHARD PROJECT in Trikomo and ELYSIUM in Famagusta.
Pohodin faces 36 charges of embezzlement of Greek-Cypriot properties in Famagusta and Kyrenia. At the last hearing, he expressed his intention to admit some charges, and the case was set for November 4.
Behdad Jafari was allegedly a close associate of Simon Aykut. He was arrested at Nice airport following a European arrest warrant issued by the Republic of Cyprus. The case concerns 7 complexes in Famagusta, Trikomo and Akanthou. His extradition to Cyprus is expected within 15 days.
