Paphos: Scam with Fake Fine – €2,000 Loss

Police are investigating a new fraud case in Paphos, where a 56-year-old lost €2,000 after a misleading message about an allegedly unpaid traffic fine.

The 56-year-old, a resident of Paphos, received a message on his mobile phone and followed a link, where he entered personal and banking information. Subsequently, the withdrawal of the amount from his account was discovered.

Police urge the public to be especially careful and advise against opening suspicious links and entering personal information on unsecured websites. The Paphos CID is conducting investigations.
