Paphos: 46-Year-Old Detained for Stabbing Supermarket Employee

The Paphos District Court issued an eight-day detention order against a 46-year-old man from Georgia in connection with a robbery and stabbing case at a supermarket. The 46-year-old allegedly injured a 24-year-old employee with a knife.

According to the Police, the 46-year-old, who had stolen alcoholic beverages in previous days, was noticed by a private security guard. After paying for products, the guard and the 24-year-old employee stopped him at the exit. The 46-year-old then allegedly injured the employee in the right leg with a knife.

Police arrested the 46-year-old, who was driving a car, and found a folding knife, supermarket products, and a substance resembling methamphetamine in his possession. The 46-year-old underwent a drug test, which came back positive.

The 24-year-old was taken to Paphos General Hospital with lacerations to his leg and was discharged.
