PASYDY has expressed strong concern following an attack on officials at the Social Welfare Services office in Germasogeia. A man entered the office demanding money, causing property damage and assaulting staff.

The PASYDY Branch Council of Social Welfare Services Officials voiced concerns about the increasing trend of violent incidents, emphasizing the need to strengthen protection measures and establish a protocol for managing violent incidents.

The Isotita union highlighted that private security guards provide only nominal security, lacking adequate training in crisis management, and that clear protocols for cooperation with the Police are absent.

The Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare assured that it will continue to upgrade security measures, strengthening procedures and staff training, in coordination with the Police. The Deputy Ministry emphasized that the safety of officials and citizens is non-negotiable.

The incident occurred on August 19, 2025.
