The Famagusta District Court ordered a five-day detention for a 31-year-old suspect in connection with a robbery case that occurred in Larnaca in 2024. According to the Police, this is the sixth person arrested in connection with the case.

Five individuals (43, 42, 41, 29, and 27 years old) have already been referred for direct trial before the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court, which will convene on April 2. The latter four (42, 41, 29, and 27 years old) were sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Dimitris Andronikou, known as Dimitroui, in May 2024.

The robbery was reported on February 19, 2024, by the 58-year-old wife of a businessman. Four hooded men entered the residence in the Faneromeni area, threatening her and the domestic helpers with garden shears. The perpetrators stole mobile phones, jewelry, and €188,000 from a safe.

One of the stolen watches was found on a social media platform and had been sold to a jewelry store in Lebanon. On March 14, 2024, a 41-year-old from Syria was arrested, suspected of making the phone call to Lebanon. A 30-year-old was also arrested, who admitted to selling two stolen rings to a jewelry store in Nicosia.

The 43-year-old from Iraq, also arrested, has appealed his detention.
