Patras: Two Detained for Arson in Sychaina

Two young men, aged 19 and 27, have been detained for arson in Sychaina, Patras. They have been charged with arson on forest and non-forest land in concurrence, repeatedly, and in complicity.

The 19-year-old allegedly confessed to starting the fire and led the police to the point where the fire started, in Vounteni, near Sychaina. The 27-year-old denies all charges, claiming memory gaps due to alcohol consumption.

The case concerns the recent fires near the urban area of Patras that burned a large area of forest, crops, as well as businesses and houses.
