Warning! Phone Scams Promising Investment Profits

The Cybercrime Subdivision warns of phone scams where perpetrators, using Cypriot numbers and speaking Greek, promise large profits from online investments.

The perpetrators ask for money for 'transfer' fees or personal/banking information to supposedly send the profits, with the aim of accessing bank accounts and illegally extracting money.

The police advise:

• Do not pay money.
• Do not give personal/banking information.
• Do not allow remote access.
• Check the authenticity of investment platforms.
• Hang up and report the incident to the Police.
