The Cyprus Police have announced intensified checks on highways, focusing on the correct use of traffic lanes, especially on sections with three lanes.

Fines of €65 will be imposed for improper lane usage and overtaking from the left lane. All vehicles must travel in the left lane, with the right lanes used only for overtaking.

Buses, heavy goods vehicles, and vehicles towing trailers are not allowed to travel in the right lane. The use of the emergency lane is permitted only in cases of emergency.

The Police urge drivers to be careful and comply with the Road Traffic Code.
