The shooting incident that occurred outside a souvlaki shop in Agios Dimitrios on January 12, 2026, has been investigated by the Sub-Directorate for Addressing Organized Sports Violence.

According to police investigation, a 39-year-old, who is wanted, had an altercation with the shop owner. Subsequently, the 39-year-old shot and injured the owner in the thigh.

Immediately, the 70-year-old father of the owner intervened with a weapon, and an exchange of gunfire followed, during which the 70-year-old was also injured in the leg.

Police arrested a 42-year-old as a moral perpetrator and the 70-year-old father. Police operations were carried out on January 13 and 15, 2026, with the assistance of Ε.Κ.Α.Μ.

The 39-year-old perpetrator is wanted.
