Cyprus Police Crackdown: Arrests for Speeding, Forgery, and Drugs

The Cyprus Police conducted intensive checks in urban areas, aiming to prevent criminal activities and ensure public order. The checks took place in all districts.

A total of six people were arrested for various offenses, while another five were arrested in connection with court warrant fines. In the Limassol district, three people were arrested, two for knife-carrying and one for illegal possession of drugs. In the Paphos district, two people were arrested, one for illegal possession of property and one for forgery, circulation of a forged document, and impersonation.

One person was arrested for speeding on the highway, driving at 187 km/h. During the checks, a total of €1,290 was collected from uncollected warrants.

Over 790 vehicles were stopped and more than 1000 people were checked. 41 establishment checks were carried out, with four complaints for violations regarding their operating licenses.

The traffic controls resulted in 366 complaints, including 36 for driving under the influence of alcohol. More than 430 alcohol checks were carried out and 31 vehicles were detained.

These operations are part of a broader police plan to prevent crime and enhance citizens' sense of security.
