Twenty-seven sheep were found dead in a church storage in Serifos, according to a complaint by Gerontissa Anthodochi. The animals were locked up without water and with minimal food.

According to the post, unknown perpetrators locked the sheep in the storage of the Agia Triada church in the Faros – Mesa Akrotiri area, after first destroying the water barrels. The animals were found piled up, having died of thirst and confinement.

Gerontissa Anthodochi also reports extensive damage to the Holy Church, such as broken windows and damaged doors, as well as the desecration of the cell of the blessed Gerontissa Anthousa.

The Gerontissa expressed her outrage at the incident, while speaking of an unprecedented crime on a peaceful island.
