The father of the 13-year-old student from Serres, who was gagged and tied with duct tape by the high school director, stated that the 60-year-old needs help, not punishment. The incident occurred last Thursday, resulting in the arrest and conviction of the educator to a two-year prison sentence, commutable to ten euros per day, for illegal violence and bodily harm.

The student's father emphasized the need to seek responsibility from those in charge who knew about the incidents and did nothing. He also referred to the statements of the educator's husband regarding her mental health and that of their son.

The father stated that he does not misunderstand the lack of communication and apology from the director, as he does not believe she has the clarity for such an action. He also mentioned that they were aware of previous incidents at the school, such as lock-ins and altercations, and that there are written complaints to the Secondary Education authorities.

The Ministry of Education announced the suspension of the educator and requested explanations for the lack of timely information. An official administrative inquiry (EDE) is being conducted for all involved.

According to the mother's complaint, the director asked the 13-year-old's twin sister to put duct tape on his mouth because he was making noise. When the daughter refused, the director did it herself and had a classmate tie his hands. The school's philologist found the student tied up and untied his hands.

The director claimed in her defense that she did it as a joke and that the student did not show any displeasure.
