Confusion at Sydney Daycare: Grandfather Picks Up Wrong Child

A mix-up occurred at a Sydney daycare center when a grandfather mistakenly picked up a child who was not his grandchild. The incident happened in the Bangor area.
According to the BBC, the child's mother does not blame the grandfather, but the daycare center. The grandfather's wife stated that the man was 'devastated' and immediately returned the child.
The center's director, Trisha Hasty, stated that the employee involved has been suspended and apologized. The New South Wales Early Childhood Education and Care Regulatory Authority is conducting an investigation.
The child's mother reported that when she contacted the center, they did not give her information about the grandfather, other than that he was elderly and wearing shorts.
Trisha Hasty assured that a similar incident has not happened in the past and that procedures have been strengthened.
