Former Footballer Arrested in Demosthenous Murder Case

A 44-year-old Greek Cypriot former footballer, known to the authorities, has been arrested in the Nicosia district in connection with the murder of Stavros Demosthenous. An arrest warrant had been issued against him.

The 44-year-old is allegedly the owner of the scooter used by the perpetrators to escape from Germasogeia. The black scooter was found in the coastal area of Agios Tychonas.

The forensic examination showed that Stavros Demosthenous was shot twice in the head from the left side.
