55-Year-Old Arrested for Poaching – Agrino Skulls and 1,008 Dead Birds Found

A 55-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a poaching case, following a court warrant. The arrest was made after an operation by the Police and the Game and Fauna Service.

The 55-year-old will be brought before the Nicosia District Court. The case is being investigated by TAE Morphou.

During searches of residences and premises, two agrino skulls and 1,008 killed wild birds were found.

Also confiscated were:

• 3 killed hares
• 7 killed partridges
• 5 killed francolins
• 4 hunting rifles (one modified)
• 47 iron traps
• 3 live wild birds
• 1 trapping net
• Prohibited cartridges
• 3 bird song emitting devices

In total, five people were reported. 7 search warrants were executed: 5 in the Nicosia district and 2 in the Limassol district.
