58-Year-Old Arrested with 65 Cartons of Untaxed Cigarettes at Paphos Airport

Authorities at Paphos Airport arrested a 58-year-old man for carrying 65 cartons of untaxed cigarettes in his luggage.

According to a statement from the Customs Department, the Turkish Cypriot passenger with British citizenship was identified before his departure to the United Kingdom. The cartons did not have the required health warnings in Greek and Turkish, nor the security features and traceability code, indicating they were untaxed.

The arrested man was taken into custody and is expected to appear before the Paphos District Court.
