Fraud Arrest: Man Created Fake Embassy and Imaginary Countries

A 47-year-old man was arrested in New Delhi on charges of creating a fake embassy and posing as a diplomat of non-existent countries to extract money.
Cars with fake license plates were also seized outside the alleged embassy set up in a rented residence in the Indian capital.
The accused, Hasvardan Jain, introduced himself as an ambassador or advisor of fictional entities such as 'Seborga' and 'Dytarctica', according to police in Uttar Pradesh state.
The man is accused of extorting money from his victims by promising jobs in the imaginary countries where he supposedly had diplomatic power.
During the police operation, four vehicles with fake diplomatic plates and 4.5 million rupees (€44,000) in foreign currency were seized.
Police also found fake stamps from the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and nearly 30 other countries, as well as 'doctored' photos showing Jain posing next to international leaders.
