54-Year-Old Arrested for Drunk Driving on Nicosia-Larnaca Highway

A 54-year-old woman was arrested today after being stopped on the Nicosia-Larnaca highway, near Aradippou, and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to the police, members of the Road Accident Prevention Unit stopped her vehicle and during the alcohol test, the reading was 105μg%, far exceeding the legal limit of 22μg%. In a subsequent test at the Aradippou Police Station, the reading increased to 118μg%.

The 54-year-old was arrested for immediate offenses and released. She will appear before the Larnaca District Court on Monday, August 4, 2025.
