A Turkish Cypriot was arrested at Paphos Airport in possession of 65 cartons of untaxed cigarettes. According to customs officials, the 58-year-old Turkish Cypriot with British citizenship was apprehended before his departure to the United Kingdom.

Customs officers, acting on intelligence, discovered that his luggage contained a large quantity of tobacco products that did not bear the health warning labels in Greek and Turkish, nor the security feature and traceability code, indicating they were untaxed.

Specifically, 65 cartons of 200 cigarettes each were found. The passenger was arrested for immediate offenses and taken to a police holding cell to appear before the Paphos District Court.
