Turkish Cypriot arrested at Paphos Airport with untaxed cigarettes

A Turkish Cypriot was arrested at Paphos Airport for possessing 65 cartons of untaxed cigarettes originating from the occupied territories.
According to customs officials, the 58-year-old Turkish Cypriot with British citizenship was apprehended before his departure to the United Kingdom. His luggage contained 65 cartons, each containing 200 cigarettes, lacking the necessary markings and traceability codes.
The passenger was arrested and taken into police custody, while the cigarettes were confiscated. He is expected to appear before the Paphos District Court.
