Fatal Accident in Occupied Territories: 43-Year-Old Dies of Electrocution

A 43-year-old man, Erol Demir, died from electrocution while repairing a fault at a station in the occupied Lefkoniko. The accident occurred while the staff of the "electricity authority" was participating in a general strike.

According to the "police", Demir came into contact with high-voltage wires while installing a lighting pole in a rural area. He was transferred to the hospital in occupied Famagusta, where he died.

A 15-year-old, Aras Demir, was also with him and suffered electrocution and is hospitalized. Unionist Ahmet Tugcu stated that the unfortunate employee was hit by 11,000 volts.

The "electricity authority" expressed its sorrow for the incident, while the president of the workers' union, Ahmet Tugcu, criticized the administration.
