According to Turkish Cypriot media, the 5 Greek Cypriots detained in the occupied territories had crossed hundreds of times since the beginning of the year. It is reported that the camera system at the Strovilia checkpoint has been inactive for months.

According to a publication in the online newspaper Ozgur, it was stated in the "military court" that the 5 G/Cs visited property belonging to one of them on July 19. The "police" arrested them later, following a complaint.

Ozgur also reports that in the "district court" of Trikomo, the three G/Cs accused of trespassing and causing disturbance were not detained, while the "prosecution" did not submit a request for pre-trial detention.

In the "military court", the defense stressed that the person accused of illegally crossing into the pseudo-state is 1.90 meters tall and was sitting with two women in the back seat.

Furthermore, the responsible "police officer" of the pseudo-state at the Strovilia checkpoint admitted that the cameras had not been working since April due to a malfunction. Evidence was presented that the 5 G/Cs had crossed hundreds of times since the beginning of the year, while the man accused of not providing identification had crossed 325 times in the last 3 years.
