Tragedy in Paphos: 44-Year-Old Found Dead

A 44-year-old foreign national was found dead in the basement of a restaurant in the P. Romiou area of Paphos. The unfortunate man was discovered by the 59-year-old Greek Cypriot owner of the restaurant, who notified the Police.

According to the Police, the 44-year-old was using the basement as a residence. A 32-year-old compatriot was also found with him, working as a domestic helper. The woman was taken to Paphos General Hospital with severe respiratory problems and is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit.

A metal container with burning charcoal was found in the room, presumably used for heating. Fumes are considered the cause of the 44-year-old's death. The exact cause of death will be determined after the official autopsy.
