Tragedy on Daleela: Passenger Dies Upon Arrival in Limassol

A 56-year-old man, a permanent resident of Cyprus, passed away upon the arrival of the Daleela ship from Piraeus to Limassol. According to the Police, the man felt chest pain and collapsed in a public area of the ship, approximately 20 nautical miles before reaching Cyprus.

Eyewitnesses reported to Omega Channel a delay in mobilization and a lack of equipment. One witness stated that the man was bleeding for quite some time without immediate medical assistance.

Scandro Holdings Ltd, in a statement, expressed its sorrow and assured that the ship's doctor immediately provided medical care and that all safety protocols were followed. The Deputy Ministry of Shipping confirmed that the ship had been thoroughly inspected before the start of its routes.

The unfortunate man was transferred to Limassol General Hospital for an autopsy, while police investigations are ongoing.
