Ypsonas: School Guard Attacked with Gas Canisters – Investigation Underway

A serious incident of violence occurred in Ypsonas, Limassol, where a school guard was attacked by a group of young people on Wednesday night. According to OMEGAlive, the group attacked the guard with improvised explosive devices (gas canisters) in the courtyard of the 3rd Elementary School of Ypsonas, resulting in burns to the face and a broken leg.

The injured guard was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. The head of the Western Limassol school guards expressed concern about the increasing violence in schools, stressing that the situation is out of control and requires immediate action before there are casualties. He also mentioned that procedures are underway to install security cameras at the school.

Police are investigating to identify the perpetrators.
