Vangelis Batarlis: Lamborghini, Rolex, and the Police Investigation

A 34-year-old police officer, Vangelis Batarlis, is under investigation by the Internal Affairs Service of the Hellenic Police (EL.AS) following his social media posts.

The posts included images of luxury cars such as a Lamborghini Urus, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche Cayenne, as well as a gold Rolex Daytona. These images, combined with complaints, led to an investigation into the police officer's lifestyle, which allegedly does not match his salary.

Batarlis is currently in custody and accused of drug trafficking after 153 grams of cocaine were found at his home. He maintains his innocence.

The investigation also examines the impact of the police officer's public image on the credibility of the EL.AS.
