Vorizia: Heavy Security at Funeral of 39-Year-Old Fanouris

The funeral of 39-year-old Fanouris, victim of Saturday's bloody incident, took place in Vorizia under heavy police security and an atmosphere of grief. The village remains under strong police surveillance, with EKAM officers patrolling and roadblocks set up at all entrances and exits.

The 39-year-old, a father of five, was allegedly involved in the resurgence of the vendetta. According to police, security measures have been increased due to fears of a new cycle of violence.

ELAS spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglidou stated that investigations are continuing to identify other individuals involved, while the origin of the weapons found in house searches is being examined. The police will remain in the area as long as necessary.

Criminal charges include intentional homicide, attempted homicide, weapons violations, bodily harm, and property damage.
