Halkidiki: Drones Search for Wolf That Injured 5-Year-Old

Searches are underway to locate the wolf that attacked and injured a 5-year-old child from Serbia in Sithonia, Halkidiki, on Friday (September 12). The child was taken to Polygyros Hospital with abrasions and bites.
The searches are being conducted using drones and cameras, and traps have been set to capture the animal. The person who repelled the wolf told Thesspost.gr that the child is well and has returned home.
The Deputy Mayor of Sithonia, Athanasios Mallinis, stated that in cooperation with the environmental organization "Kallistó," the necessary measures have been taken to locate and remove the wolf. He confirmed that it is a wolf and not a jackal. "Kallistó" has installed cameras and is using a drone with a thermal camera to locate the animal.
Dog owners are advised to keep their dogs on a leash during walks, as attacks on dogs have been reported. The Press Representative of "Kallistó," Iason Badios, described the incident as an urgent case and stressed the need to remove the animal.
