Chania: Taxi Driver Robbed, Bound, and Abandoned

A female taxi driver was robbed in Chania after a man posing as a customer led her to a remote location and robbed her.
According to cretapost.gr, the incident occurred last Wednesday afternoon when the perpetrator boarded the taxi from a taxi rank in the KTEL area and asked to be taken to Vryses Apokoronou.
During the journey, the perpetrator, described as a foreigner, requested a stop in a deserted location, where he threatened the driver with a knife. After seizing the earnings, he tied her up in the back seat and drove the taxi to the Koumbe district, where he abandoned it and fled.
The driver managed to free herself and call for help. Police are conducting investigations to locate the perpetrator.
The president of the Taxi Association of Chania, Ilias Karapatakis, condemned the incident and expressed his support for his colleague.
