Annie Alexui Case: Suspension of Warrants Under Consideration
Share on:

Efforts continue to obtain information and a statement from Annie Alexui regarding her allegations. The Legal Service and the Ministry of Justice are considering all possibilities.

In this context, the possible suspension of warrants against the 43-year-old is being considered to enable a statement to be taken without the risk of arrest. The possibility of the delegation to be sent to Russia not consisting of members of the Police, but of a criminal investigator appointed by the Legal Service is also being examined. In addition, it is being investigated whether a statement can be taken from Russian police officers in the presence of the Cypriot delegation.

A basic condition for all this is the approval of the Russian Authorities, who have not yet responded to the relevant request from the Republic of Cyprus. The warrants against Annie complicate the process of obtaining information.

The Minister of Justice, Kostas Firitis, stated that the case is quite complex due to the outstanding warrants.

Ms. Fotiou, in a new video, clarified that she does not intend to come to Cyprus and that she will not give a statement at the Cypriot Embassy.

Annie calls on the Minister and the Police to launch an ex officio investigation, using the information published by Ms. Fotiou.
