Espionage Case: Detention Extended for Azerbaijani in Cyprus

The detention of the Azerbaijani man suspected of conspiracy, involvement in criminal activities, espionage, and terrorism has been extended for another eight days.
The suspect was brought before the Limassol district court under tight security measures. The procedure took place behind closed doors for security reasons.
Investigations are ongoing, and there is communication with security authorities in other countries, including Greece, where another Azerbaijani was arrested in Crete. A possible connection between the cases is being investigated.
The suspect had been residing in an apartment complex in Zakaki, near the British Bases, since April 2025, where he was arrested on June 21.
