200 Years Since the Exodus of Messolonghi: "Diexodos" Events for 2026

The "Diexodos" Center for Speech and Art announced its program of events to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Exodus of Messolonghi in 2026. The events will take place in Messolonghi, Athens, and Thessaloniki.
The program includes exhibitions, lectures, and conferences in various cities in Greece, including Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Arta, and Lefkada. Special emphasis is placed on the educational aspect, with student competitions and programs for children.
Of particular importance is the initiative to establish April 10th as Day of Remembrance, Honor, and Dignity.
The events begin on January 17, 2026, in Athens, at the "Andreas Lentakis" Cultural Foundation, with the exhibition "Messolonghi - The Threshing Floor of Glory." They will conclude in Thessaloniki, at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle, with the exhibition "Exodus - Journey to Death" (October 2026 - January 2027).
The founder and CEO of "Diexodos," Nikos Kordosis, stated that the actions aim to highlight the event of the Exodus throughout Greece.
The program also includes the screening of the documentary "Messolonghi of History and Spirit" by the Hellenic Parliament channel and regional television stations in Greece and Cyprus.
