2026: Year Dedicated to Manos Hatzidakis

The Ministry of Culture has declared 2026 as a year dedicated to Manos Hatzidakis, honoring the leading composer on his centenary.

The Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, stated that Hatzidakis imposed his own rules on musical creation and the dissemination of liberal ideas, overcoming ideological constraints and drastically influencing Greek culture.

The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with its supervised organizations, intends to create a program of actions to revive Hatzidakis' work and reassess his cultural contribution, in order to make him known to younger generations.
