Terence Stamp Passes Away: Beyond General Zod

Actor Terence Stamp, best known for his role as General Zod in the Superman films, has died at the age of 87. He was one of the most important English actors of the 20th century.
Throughout his career, he collaborated with directors such as William Wyler, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Ken Loach, and John Schlesinger. In 1965, he won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival for The Collector, and in 1962 he received a Golden Globe for Best Newcomer for Billy Budd.
Born in London in 1938, Stamp began his career working various jobs before turning to acting. He studied at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, where he met Michael Caine.
His family announced that he leaves behind an extraordinary body of work that will continue to inspire.
