Cypriot Chef Andreas Mavrommatis Passes Away

Renowned Cypriot chef Andreas Mavrommatis has passed away at the age of 69. He was born in Agios Ioannis Pitsilias and moved to France at the age of 18 for studies.
Andreas Mavrommatis became the first Cypriot chef to be awarded a Michelin star.
The President of the Republic expressed deep sorrow for his death, emphasizing that he was a pioneer of Mediterranean gastronomy and an ambassador of Cypriot and Greek cuisine abroad.
President Christodoulides also noted his contribution to strengthening Franco-Cypriot relations.
